"Donuts with Dads" is more than a breakfast event; it's a celebration of the precious connections between fathers and their children. lt provides a warm and welcoming environment for families to strengthen their bonds, create lasting memories, and reinforce the importance of quality time spent together. Bring your smiles, appetites, and a sense of playfulness to this heartwarming event. We look forward to sharing a morning filled with love, laughter, and, of course, delicious donuts!
Stop Bullying Video
It was an honor to collaborate with the Love Quest Foundation filming and editing their stop the bullying campaign music video. Working with the talented youth during this five-day video shoot was a unique experience. This Video was premiered at the Love Quest Foundation Red Carpet event at the Trolley Barn located at 489 Main St. Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 12601.
Housing after incarceration
Working with the Hudson valley Reentry Network was an eye-opening experience. Shooting the coming home video was a depiction of an incarcerated felon release back into society without family support and a minimum amount of money. This individual is under the impression that if he visits a housing resource, he will get help with acquiring affordable, safe housing. He was told by the resource counselor he could only refer him to a local shelter, which was a big disappointment to this individual. At the end of the video the actor who also was formerly incarcerated explains the importance of more
affordable housing and more safe transitional housing that has multi-services to help and
support the reentry process. There is a New York State senator named Kevin Parker who has introduced a bill s6643 that would provide eligible incarcerated individuals a monthly stipend upon release from a state correctional facility.
On June 1st, 2023, Dutchess Community College hosted the Caribbean American Heritage Month celebration. This event was coordinated by the Dutchess County Government Diversity, Inclusion committee, Josayne Anderson-Tejera Equal Employment Opportunity and Inclusion Officer for Dutchess County Government, and Jacqueline Goffe-McNish, Professor of English and Humanities at DDC. This event was also supported by the New York State Minorities in Criminal Justice Inc. Region 4. This event featured speakers, workshops, cultural dance, vendors, music, and food. My collaboration with the New York State Minorities in Criminal Justice Inc. Region 4 and the organizers was to video tape several workshops, including cultural dance lessons, and merchandise vendors.
